EnbyBallet is a project-based ballet company in Puerto Rico that exists to develop and nurture an inclusive organization where dancers can express themselves freely ''en pointe.” It seeks to present dancers past gender stereotypes.
The company focuses on creating new narratives as well as modifying existing works to allow queer representation to be showcased in classical and contemporary ballet.
organizations like EnbyBallet are important today because they diversify the art form and open a range of possibilities that hadn’t been explored before. EnbyBallet would be the first company in its class to exist in the US's East Coast and Caribbean region.
Vision
enbyballet has an opportunity to bring ballet culture to its deepest expression while showcasing dancers in their unique selves “en pointe.” it will allow for queer stories and representation to be shown in an alternative way, one that hasn’t been a part of ballet culture before.
the company also aims to create awareness while educating audiences and communities of Puerto Rico and abroad about queer representation and history.
